“PhiloBiotics” combines the Greek words “Philos”, meaning “Love” and “Bios” meaning “Life”. Together they mean “Love of Life”. This expression encapsulates the guiding philosophy of our Company, as well as our approach to business, It also explains our choice of tagline “Because life is precious”.

PhiloBiotics was founded in year 2004 with a view to uplifting the health and quality of life of the people of Sri Lanka. We will achieve this by providing the medical profession with high quality Ophthalmic Medical Equipment, from reputed manufactures from around the world. We have prioritized our customer expectations. Therefore, our partnerships with principal companies will be for achieving superior customer service collectively.

PhiloBiotics is one of the subsidiaries of VC Capital Ltd which is a brain child of Mr. Dasantha Fonseka, who is the chairman of Vision Care Optical Services. Vision Care Optical Services Pvt Ltd, Global Vision Lanka Pvt Ltd, The 500 Boutique Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Eye Tech Systems (Pvt) Ltd, VC Holiday Homes (Pvt) Ltd, and Philobiotics Pvt Ltd are under the umbrella of VC Capital and it is headed by Mr. Dasantha Fonseka.
